Rock and Roll!

Yesterday turned out to be a glorious day. I lay in bed all afternoon and then early evening I went to see my friend Paul Foot in "Crash Pad". After Paul and I stopped off at the flat for a light beverage and then wondered on down to the Troy Club. It was so much fun there, I got the buzz I had been seeking all week. It was great to see Paul and Andrew O'Neill again, and have them there supporting me, as well as my friends Lizzie and Chloe. I was superb that night, it felt amazing. I did all the material I wanted to do, rather than the material I thought I should do, and it went down really well. I really enjoyed it, and that is how I want all my gigs be. After Paul and I went in search of somewhere to eat but failed, instead we went to some unfashionable gay bar on the basis that it would be quiet. Paul was excellent company last night and shared some valuable advice with me.

Tonight I'm supposed to be doing another shitty 5 mins in the back of some pub with a bunch of wannabe newcomers. I'm growing to hate these nights, especially after last night. They have a bad atmosphere, there's never a big crowd, and everyone is either competitive or just really "try hard". All the acts are really iffy, despite having some good material, their personas are awkward and it can be uncomfortable to watch, especially if they don't have good material. I don't want to go on infront of an audience who are uncomfortable. It's unfortunate as it really drains the motivation from me, but it's like anything else, it's the bottom of the ladder, there isn't a short cut. I guess I'm relying on nights like last night to keep the comedy flame burning in me!

I'm going to use my same obscure material that I did last night, I'm not trying to please anyone anymore, if they don't like it they can fuck off as I know it's funny!

Love to all.
